Monday syndrome is at full blast. I'm forgetting my priorities and loosing my mind.
This is madness!!!
Let me be straight forward, this priority thing really hurts me a lot.
In my industry, juggling among deadlines is a daily event.
My company pushes for 120% service to the customer as well as 120% service among internal customers such as another department.I’m a service oriented person. I must admit I do a really damn good job servicing the needs of our customers.
But I’m not big on data entry.I don’t mind writing reports and matter of fact I wish I get to write long reports all the time rather furiously entering and opening files.
At one point my supervisor and I had a plan. We wanted a new office layout which some people who are not very service oriented should do the data entry while people like myself service and troubleshoot.
Well the place is mismanaged. I think he’s getting praised for his great revenue to salary ratio but all I see are people working like slaves and these days I joke if the place is ran like fucking sweatshop.
Back to the priority, I have so much troubles juggling between service and data-entry.
When I finally find my balance, there are tons of distrations to throw me off such as the various performance ratings coming down from the corp. Then there is the ever build up of accounting issues.
Things are so messed up, I find myself beaten up all the time. A few days later I climb out of the quicksand but only to find myself in a deeper mess a week later.
I'm sick of management telling me that I'm lucky to have a job. There is one thing about making a difference in this tough time and there is another which is called abuse when people take advantage of the economy in a mean of control.
Economy is getting better and I really think this place could have been much more pleasant.
I'm trying to be less rigid on myself by blaming part of my ongoing issue with the way this place is managed.
On a final note, every thursday night I laugh hard when I watch OFFICE on NBC because I know just how ridiculous corporate policies are. Suggestion to the people up high, fix the real issues, economy is bad, how about making a real difference!
